Why did Jesse got mad?

  • Ok i don't get it... Maybe cuz i don't remember 100% of this show...

Why did Jesse got mad when he realized Walt had the ricin cigarette lifted from his pack?

      Loading editor
    • Because he manipulated him. Jesse felt so bad about losing it. He thought he might have accidently killed someone who may have found it. He also realized since it was stolen, that Walt had indeed poisoned Brock with the Lilly of the Valley to get him on his side to help take down Gus.

    • Yes there was that whole scene where Walt goes to Jesse's house and pretends to help him look for it.  Then they find it in the robotic floor cleaner.  (Walt put it in it).   Walt had made small container and put salt in it.

I don't follow this.  Jesse knew nothing about Walt's Lily of the Valley plant, did he?  Walt frantically disposed of it in the beginning of "Live Free or Die," loading it in his car with other evidence of the pipe bomb that he wanted to destroy.

The doctor said it was Lily of the Valley, for the rest i guess Jesse just put the pieces together and managed to get the big picture.

    • Jesse understand that the way that the bodyguard steel his marihuana like he have lost the ricin, and then he understands that it was Walter who does that using Saul and his bodyguard, and that Walt does that for that he thinks in the possibility of that the kid have been intoxicated by the ricin, what it doesn't happen, like Jesse knows

    • The cigarrettes were just a link that led to a realization of all of Walt's manipulation in the past. At this point, Jesse sees the true Walt, and, upon recollection of the past, he begins to put the pieces together. He suddenly sees the truth.

... and the truth would be that he had been manipulated by Walt all the time?

    • I tivo all episodes of this season. Watch again and u will se Huell lift the weed off of Jessie. Jessie reaches for his weed and only finds smokes. He realizes It was Huell who lifted the weed off of him by request of Saul. (Before it took days before he realized the ricen was gone) This was only a hour. This means Huell also lifted the ricen cigarrettes from before at request of saul from Walt. He believes Walt poisoned brock with ricen (Impossible because show confirmed it was lilly of the vally. Walt new better than to use the ricen.) Jessie snapped because the scene where walt asked him "What could I gain from killing a kid?" comes back to haunt him because now he knows Walt DID sink to the same low as Gus did (killing/hurting kids) because they melted a kid in acid and wen't home like nothing happned. The only person damaged by that was Jessie ( and me btw. They melted a kid in acid man, Godamn!) Walt also poisoned Brock, killed mike and his 9 guys + lawyer, made mikes granddaughter a orphan. Jessie is crazy as hell right now. He has no concrete evience Walt did it but he knows just like hank knows he is heisenberg. Walt could give him some bs story about how he didn't do it because the ricen is still in his house but Jessie don't need no water at this point and walt will just shoot him.

pretty sure kaylee is not orphaned.  and jesse does not believe walt poisoned brock with ricin; the doctors straight up told jesse it wasn't ricin

    • You guys are forgetting something. Walter tooke the ricin, told Jesse the bs about Gus poisoning Brock, thing went on, then CAME BACK to Jesse's house and "FOUND" the ricin safely in the cleaner robot. It was a very elaborate lie.

Jesse got berserk because he found out that, if Walt planted the stuff in Jesse's, he was obviously guilty about the poisoning, and used him as a pawn

it wasn't ricin .... jessie gets angry for nothing and walter will tell you again that it was not him,is was the valley lily

    • I know it wasn't ricin. It was the lilly of the vally plant that walt got rid of. In the episode where they looked in jessies house for it walt put fake ricen in the house and said he found it. What I'm trying to say is at this point jessie knows walt has been lying to him about everything Brock most importantly. He tells saul that Walt poisoned  brock with the ricin even if he knows that not true. Saul admits he was asked by walt to tell huell to lift it off of him but didn't fully know what Walt was going to do with it. Jessie jumps to the conclusion that walt poisoned brock with ricin. (of course the audience knows it was with the lilly of the valley) He knows walt is responsible for brock being poisoned and saul helped him but dosen't know exactly how. All he knows is walt had something to do with it. thats why he is trying to burn down his house.

"He tells saul that Walt poisoned  brock with the ricin even if he knows that not true."  i don't think jesse said walt poisoned brock with ricin; i think jesse just said that he poisoned him.  i could be wrong, but i don't remember jesse saying what brock was poisoned with

Mike's Grand daughter isn't an orphen. There's an episode where Mike gives her some balloons and she asks what the others are for, then goes running inside to her mother. I wish people would watch the episode before jumping to conclusions.

    • While reading this thread cleared up all the confusion I had with the "ricin cigarette", there is still ONE more thing I am not grasping or maybe just missed somewhere...

In Season 4's "End Times", we see Huell pat down Jesse once he enters Saul's office, even while Jessie is pretty much resisting. At the end of the pat down, you can see Huell's hand dip into his own coat pocket. I'm assuming this is the moment where Huell lifts the ricin cigarette from Jesse. I just re watched this weekend and you can totally see the quick pocket dip from Huell after the pat down, where he is transferring the pack into his own coat pocket. If you go back and watch the pat down, it is such a quick one and Jesse is resisting and moving all over, that in reality, Huell wouldn't have had a chance to get his hands in Jesse's pockets to grab the cigarette pack. But this is a TV show and we just have to assume this is the moment when the ricin cig was lifted.

The one thing I don't get is how or when did Huell get the cigarette pack (with the remaining actual cigarettes) back into Jesse's jacket? We know that Jesse gets the pack back, minus the one ricin cig, because we see him dump it all out onto the ground at the hospital when he finds out Brock is sick and realizes the ricin cig is missing.

My take on it is that this must've happened off screen somewhere, because Huell had to had lifted the entire pack from Jesse's jacket, took the ONE ricin cig out and then put it back into Jesse's pocket, for him to discover later, it was missing...we just never see this happen.

But again, I was just wondering how he got the cigarette pack back into Jesse's jacket after he took the ricin cig out. I know I've totally over thought all the minor details out in this case, I just love this show so much and the writing, that I look at every shot, scene, line and try to piece every single detail out cause I don't wanna miss anything in this series. It's sad this it's ending, but I can't wait to find out how it all goes down for every character...

    • i think they switched packs.  they probably knew what kind of cigarettes jesse smokes, so they stole jesse's pack with the ricin cigarette and replaced it with an identical pack minus the ricin cigarette.  remember, huell has "nimble sausage fingers"

    • My guess is huell did a quick switch. He switched the two packs.

right, one pack had the ricin and the other one didn't.

    • Hi,

I watch this show from France and I think it is the best ever!

However, since English is not my native language, there are things which don't make sense to me (also because I have such a poor memory and can't recall details from previous seasons).

For example: are we supposed to believe in season 4 that Walt tried to make Jesse believe that Gus tried to poison Brock with ricin?

I probably misunderstood something because it doesn't make sense to me: how on earth was Gus supposed to know that ricin was hiding in Jesse's cigarettes pack? or even know anything about ricin?

If Gus really had decided to kill Brock because he wanted to hurt Jesse, wouldn't this (stealing Jesse's ricin, supposing he knew it was ricin) be the dumbest way to achieve it?

Ok, I probably missed something, and I hope you will tell me what!

it's been a while since i've seen it, but i think this is what happened.  yes, walt convinced jesse that gus poisoned brock with the ricin.  walt suggested that maybe gus and his men found out about the ricin by overhearing them speak about it in the lab via the camera or audio equipment (or perhaps even walt and/or jesse were bugged without knowing).  walt reminds jesse that gus had used and sacrificed children in the past, which furthers his argument.  walt says that tyrus could have stolen the cigarette from jesse's locker at the lab during one of their cooks.

gus wouldn't have poisoned brock to hurt jesse per se.  the only reason gus wasn't able to kill walt for so long is because jesse told gus that he (jesse) would quit working for him (gus) if walt was killed.  gus still needed a meth cook, so he couldn't afford for jesse to quit; what gus needed was for jesse to be okay with walt being killed.  so walt convinced jesse that gus' plan was to poison brock so that jesse would think walt did it.  that would get jesse so angry at walt that jesse would no longer care for walt's life to be spared.  walt said it himself (something close to this): [walt laughs] "all this time i was waiting for one of gus' men to come kill me, and you were the one they sent.  it's brilliant."  let's assume it really was gus' plan.  it really would have been a brilliant plan because walt never would have expected them to send jesse to kill him, and it allowed for walt to let down his guard.

summary: walt poisoned brock.  jesse accused walt of poisoning brock.  walt convinced jesse that gus' plan was to get jesse to turn against walt, and did so by making jesse think that walt poisoned brock.  jesse believed that gus' plan was real.  jess then turned against gus and helped walt.

it was great manipulation by walt, but also a very risky move.

    • This may have nothing to do with OP, but  I have a question for Jesse on Season 4 Ep 12, when Jesse suspects that Walter poisoned Broc after he checked on his cigarretts and found the capsuled one was missing.

How does Jesse relate the missing cigarrett with the capsule to Walter ?  Was Jesse's cigarrett pack misplaced on table while Walter was in Jesse' home and Jesse remembered it ?

      1. What was the scene that would make Jesse be able to link the cigarrett missing would be directly picked up by Walter ?

      2. How does Jesse think that Walter would particulary target Broc for poisoning and when ?

I just have this question because Jesse later visits Walter and fight over this and the final scene on episode 13 of the season 4 suggests that Walter might have indeed poisoned Broc.  Then, how and when ?

      Thanks.

      Thanks.

because as far as jesse was concerned, only two people knew that the ricin cigarette existed: walt and himself (jesse didn't know that walt confided in saul).  brock was in the hospital with symptoms resembling that of ricin, and the ricin cigarette was missing from jesse's pack, so jesse had nobody to suspect but walt.
