Felina is also a reference to a the song "El Paso" sung by Marty Robbins. In the song, a cowboy is in love with a barmaid named Felina. After murdering another man in cold blood because he drew her attention, the cowboy escapes. However, his love for Felina is so strong that he must see her one last time. As he rides towards El Paso, he is surrounded by gunfighters looking to avenge the death of their comrade and he is shot several times. He then dies in Felina's arms.
