Walt returns to his house to retrieve $25,000 from the crawl space to pay off Saul's secretary Francesca, who demands an outrageous sum to compensate her for the busted glass door Walt caused when breaking into Saul Goodman's office and to cough up Saul's number. Walt decides he needs to send someone into the White homestead to spring any traps that Gustavo Fring's men might have left for him there.
Thus, he stops down the street from his house, and calls his elderly, innocent neighbor Rebecca Simmons with a story about being on vacation in Sante Fe with Skyler and Walter Jr. thinking he left a burner on. Walt watches with binoculars as Becky leaves her house and walks into Walt's house, and Walt seems genuinely relieved when nothing terrible occurs. However, her arrival does cause a couple of Fring's henchmen to exit the pool area and head back down the street. Becky, ignorant of Walt's true motives but nevertheless unscathed, then calls Walt back to confirm that the burner had not been left on ("Face Off").
