So, fans, what do you think? I'm happy we're gonna see more of Saul but also I would definitely like to see more of Gus! I think there is more story and also I'm a big fan of Mike so obviously there would be Mike.

Gus wouldn't be in it anyway. Saul didn't even know his name until after Walt got involved with him. The only characters we know he had a relationship with before are Mike (who knows how often Saul used his services before Walt) as his PI and Emilio, who he defended. Francesca, his secretary.
Saul had Fring's contact info but had no idea who he was or what he looked like So he wouldn't be in a prequel show. He mightve known Huel back then and then I can see why they brough huell back since he wasn't in any episode in the 1st half of season 5. They could be setting it up so Huell is a main character.
if it's supposed to be more comedic, than having huell and kuby would make sense.
That's a good question. In my opinion they don't need to, depending on how far back they need to go. Some of that has to do with the fact that eventhough the show BB has been on since 2008, by my clalculation the BB universe is still in early 2009. This is probably my biggest criticism of the show, actually. Walter gets diagnosed with cancer, starts cooking, kills Crazy 8 and Emilio, restarts cooking, meets Tuco (whom dies shortly after) cooks again with Jesse as the distributor, meets Gus, starts cooking again, kills two drug dealers, Jesse kills Gale, they manage to stay alive and continue to work for Gus, Walt kills Gus, ...Jesse, Walt and Mike pull of the magnet thing, the greatest train robbery ever, Todd kills the boy on the bike, Mike sells Methlymene to Declan, Walt and the Araians whack all those witnesses...And by THAT point we've just barely reached one year! Plus, of course I'm leaving out tons of details and other happenings (not even mentioning Jane, her father, Jesse's heroin problem and all the tragedy that that involved!)
I took the time to write that out just to demonstrate how slowly time moves in the Breaking Bad universe. Obviously Saul can't go all the way back to law school, but A LOT of story can be told in a short time span. So Yes--the original actors could easily reprise their roles. I just hope it doesn't turn into something that's supposed to be a comedy! In my opinion, that would be the only way this spin off might slightly tarnish the greatest show of all time. I don't want to laugh when I'm tuning into this world. Even if it's funny...there are other outlets for people to satisfy their comedy needs. This show MUST be a drama!
I know that Better Call Saul! is most likely (confirmed?) to be a prequel series, but part of me really wants it to start after he's been "disappeared" and he's rebooting his life as a manager of a Cinnabon in Omaha. That could be comedy gold.
no he will start as assistant manager and gradually make his way to Cinnabon empire lord by season 5
To be clear.... 'Better Call Saul' is NOT slated to be a comedy... It's going to be an hour long DRAMA in the same vein as BB, as confirmed by AMC head Josh Sapan in Variety interview.
i could be wrong but i think vince said something like if breaking bad is 75% drama and 25% comedy, then better call saul will be more like 25% drama and 75% comedy.
Thats weird. I would say Br Ba gets less and less comedic and more and more dramatic
season five for sure. but season one is pretty funny. i was just watching the marathon, and there is such a drastic contrast between the first season and where we are at now. we have come such a long way.
